As part of a strategy to strengthen their position for sustained success into the future, Sussex Coast College and Sussex Downs College merged in 2017 to create a new entity, East Sussex College Group (ESCG). The Group planned to develop a new brand identity which could be used across its campuses, as part of its aim to communicate the benefits of the merger in enhancing education access and provision across East Sussex.
We’re hugely proud of the work we did with ESCG in developing a brand strategy for the merged college group. We worked with the senior management team to focus down on simplified branding that could be applied with consistency across sites, and a positioning that resonates across staff, students, local employers and the community. A structured process of stakeholder consultations and decision-focused workshops were key in creating consensus amongst a diverse group of decision-makers with different priorities, past experiences and immediate needs.
